Tourism, travel industries welcome repeal of remaining COVID-19 restrictions

Arrange of tourism and travel organisations and businesses have welcomed the lifting of the last COVID-19 restrictions, including those that had been in place at ports of entry and those restricting the size of gatherings.
Association of Southern African Travel Agents CEO Otto de Vries said the lifting of restrictions would ensure some level of normality and confidence in the market that travel is open and easy. It will also certainly help to support the recovery of the sector.

Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism said that the Cape Town Tourism is delighted at the news of the South African government dropping the remaining Covid-19 restrictions. The lifting of mask-wearing, and ending of gathering limitations and checks on all travellers coming into the country, is a big win for South African tourism.
