Record number of guns seized at US airports last year

More firearms were seized at airports across the United States last year than ever before by the TSA. The 4,432 firearms detected in carry-on and checked bags at TSA airport checkpoints represent an approximately 5% increase over the 4,239 found in 2018.

NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Wednesday that 2019 was the world's second-hottest year on record.
The US saw 14 "billion-dollar disasters " last year, causing a total of $45 billion in direct losses.
Most of that damage came from heavy rainfall tied to warming.
Alaska saw its hottest year on record, with extreme drought and fires raging across the Arctic .
